Two killed in car and lorry crash near South Molton

Crash investigators are examining the scene of the accident
Two people have died in a crash involving a car and a lorry on the A361 in Devon.
Emergency services were called to the accident at Knowstone, near South Molton, at about 0830 GMT.
Police said the driver and passenger of the car died at the scene of the accident. The road has been closed.
It was one of a series of accidents on roads in Devon in wintry conditions, and police have warned motorists to drive with extreme care.
Devon County Council control room said gritting lorries were sent out at 1500 GMT and all the major routes have been treated and will be again early on Sunday morning, but ice will continue to be a hazard on untreated minor roads.
Road temperatures in some areas have remained below freezing all day and a council spokesman said drivers should stick to main roads if at all possible.

As if surrounded by a celestial halo, space shuttle Discovery made its way towards the expansive confines of NASA Kennedy Space Center's Vehicle Assembly Building following a move from its processing hangar on Sept. 9, 2010. A metal sling will be carefully connected to the spacecraft and then operators will hoist it from transfer aisle to the high reaches of the 52-story building before lowering it into place beside the external fuel tank and twin solid rocket boosters. Crews then will connect the spacecraft giving the stack its familiar launch day form. Discovery is targeted to liftoff on the 11-day STS-133 mission on Nov. 1 at 4:40 p.m. EDT.
